OWU Mobile

INFORMATION SERVICES AND the Office of Marketing and Communication are happy to offer mobile applications for the OWU community.  OWU Mobile is now available from the Apple App Store, Android Market Place, and Blackberry App World.  It is a free download for anyone interested in staying connected with OWU.  Additionally, users may browse to http://m.owu.edu from a cell phone web browser to view information.  Please email helpdesk@owu.edu if you have questions or suggestions for the mobile applications.

The following is a list describing the features of the new applications as well as a few screenshots.

• News:  This application pulls in news feeds from various sources, including media releases, Connect2 OWU, The Transcript, athletics, and other social media sources.
• Courses:  Search the course catalog, including section, instructor, location, and course times.  Currently the 2010-2011 Course Catalog is available.
• Library:  Search holdings by title, author, or keywords.  Future versions of the application will allow members of the campus community to view the availability of a particular item.
• Events:  See OWU events by type in list, day, and monthly views.  Events then can be selected to display more information.  Clicking on the "Location" field will bring up the campus map, right to the specific building.  Clicking "Add to Calendar" will allow you to add the event to your BishopApp calendar.
• Directory:  Search the campus phone and email directory.  Click on the phone number (if available) or email address to directly contact the selected person.
• Maps:  Search for a particular building and the map will take you there.  Some buildings have photos included as well.  Clicking the arrow in the bottom left will take you to your current location.  The building icons on the bottom right launch the "Places" functionality.  This will show basic information about dining locations and campus services, including hours of operation and building locations.
• Athletics:  See spring sports news feeds and schedule information.  Future versions may contain score information as well.
• Videos:  Archive of OWU specific videos.
• Images:  Archive of OWU specific images.
• Giving:  Quick link to a Web page containing Giving information.
• Alumni:  Quick link to a Web page containing Alumni information.
• Emergency:  Quick link to access OWU Public Safety or Delaware City Police via 911.
